Microneedling
What is Microneedling?
Collagen Induction Therapy is the process of creating thousands of microchannels in the skin to create a rapid response in collagen and elastin growth. This process is basically tricking your own body to rejuvenate itself on a cellular level. As a result, new collagen and elastin produce softer, firmer skin and can reduce the appearance of wrinkles, acne scars, and textural issues.
Microneedling Benefits
-Stimulates Collagen by promoting healthy blood flow and skin cell turnover.
-Stimulates Collagen to help fight acne causing inflammation.
-Boosts effectiveness of products
-Diminish Dark Spots/Scarring
What to Expect during microneedling
Clients who are interested in Microneedling will first have a consultation with one of our Aesthetic Experts to determine customization and how many treatments they will need for the results they desire. Please note, clients with significant scarring or deep wrinkles may require additional treatments.
Before the service, a topical numbing solution is applied to the skin to reduce discomfort. This sits on for about twenty five minutes. Then we begin gliding over the skin with the SkinPen. Most people compare the sensation to the feeling of light sandpaper moving across the skin. Normally each treatment takes an hour unless you combine with platelet rich plasma (PRP) which could lengthen the time of the service.
What to expect after Microneedling
You can expect the treated area to be red for a few days. People experience redness for about twenty four hours, but it could last for up to two to four days. Some say immediately after the treatment that the skin feels like it’s gotten a mild sunburn. Clients will be provided with a take home gel to be re-applied immediately following the treatment.
After the redness goes away, most people notice an immediate glow to the skin and significant changes following in the days and weeks after. With microneedling, it can sometimes take up to six months for all of the benefits to take place in the skin.
PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma)
Using the power of your own blood’s platelets to rejuvenate and invigorate cellular turnover. Platelets have the unique ability to reawaken collagen and elastin production while also helping with inflammation and healing.
Helps with the following skin issues:
-Uneven skin tone
-Fine lines and wrinkles
-Dull complexion
-Hyperpigmentation
-Acne Scars
-Hair thinning/Hair Loss
The Process
Your own blood is drawn and spun down in a centrifuge. The mixture of plasma is then re-administered to the skin by way of microneedling or injection or both. By combining PRP with microneedling, you can see visible results in less time. PRP is a great option because it makes the downtime after microneedling shorter, with also the potential of giving you better results.
